New Year, New Opportunities

SMART To Promote U.S. Small Ruminant Genetics in Thailand and Latin America

We are thrilled to announce our participation in two significant trade missions in 2025, which will create incredible opportunities for U.S. sheep and goat producers, breed associations, and industry groups. These missions mark a new chapter in strengthening international partnerships and expanding the global footprint of American small ruminant genetics.

February 2025: Agribusiness Trade Mission to Thailand

Our staff is attending the first ever USDA Foreign Agriculture Service Agribusiness Trade Mission to Thailand in early February. This exciting initiative allows us to meet businesses in Pacific Asia interested in importing top-tier American goat and sheep genetics, including live animals, semen, and embryos. Thailand represents a growing market for high-quality livestock genetics, and we are honored to be selected for this mission.

During our visit, we will meet prospective importers, breeders, and value-added producers and connect with one of Thailand’s largest sheep and goat live animal importers. These interactions will enable us to build relationships, understand regional needs, and introduce the unparalleled quality of U.S. sheep and goat genetics to the Thai livestock industry.

Join Us in Promoting American Sheep and Goat Genetics

We invite U.S. producers, breed associations, and advocacy groups to participate in this exciting journey. If your organization has marketing materials showcasing your animals or genetics, we’d love to include them in our trade mission packets. Materials with concise text, high-quality photos, and QR codes linking to videos or websites are particularly effective.

All materials for the Thailand trade mission must be received or ready for pickup at our local print shop in Jonesboro, Arkansas by January 31, 2025.

April 2025: Trade Winds: The Americas

In April, we will continue our international outreach as part of the U.S. Commercial Service Trade Winds Mission to Colombia, Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. We will also meet with buyers from Panama and Mexico. This mission offers a prime opportunity to showcase American goat genetics to some of the most dynamic and fast-growing agricultural markets in the Western Hemisphere.

Latin America boasts a thriving sheep and goat industry, with increasing demand for superior genetics to enhance productivity and sustainability. During this mission, we will participate in business-to-business meetings tailored to foster connections with importers, industry leaders, and producers across these countries.

Spanish and Portuguese will be the primary languages during this mission, and we are ready to support our collaborators with translations to ensure materials resonate with local audiences.

All materials for this trade mission must be received or ready for pickup at our local print shop in Jonesboro, Arkansas by March 29, 2025.
